How much should a business spend on a new website?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a universal figure because websites solve different problems for different businesses. For example, a brochure-style site for a small business and a lead-generation platform for a manufacturer probably have very different requirements.

You could ask yourself these simple questions to help you establish how a new website could work best for you:

What does the website need to achieve?

How many enquiries would make it worthwhile?

Will it replace other marketing activity?

Does it need SEO, integrations, content or ongoing updates?

If the website is mainly to support your business with web presence, a small site of approximately 3-6 pages would suffice.

If the website is expected to generate leads and support growth, then we would always advise to invest properly in structure, content and optimisation – because the cheapest website is rarely the lowest cost over time if it underperforms or needs redesigning in a couple of years.
